All Government Teachers Occupying Bungalow Are To Pay Rent. Many friends of the chalk fraternity in the public sector, are currently lamenting bitterly over the directive that, they pay 10% out of their monthly salaries as payments for occupying government’s bungalows.
In a news letter dated: 1th March, 2022, and signed by Felicia Agyeibea Okai (Mrs), who is the director of public education at the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Western Region, urges all the teaching and non-teaching staff members to comply with the directive accordingly so as not to incur the wrath of their leadership.
Some public servants who are not working in the teaching fields are raising an eye-brow as to why teachers are complaining over such an innocuous regulation.

In their views, all the public sector employees are paying their own rent bills except other few ones who are working in the judicial service, the executive, the parliament, and other public officials therefore, teachers occupying government’s bungalows to pay for the rent, it is no big deal.
But others are also expressing their divergent views that, it may appear as though, teachers are being used as scapegoats whilst, their leaders are enjoying at their expenses.
