The National Identification Authority(NIA) has come up with a new change when it comes to getting a Ghana Card for identification purposes.
It is to be noted that these changes are in unison with the Fees and Charges(Miscellaneous Provision), Regulations 2023(L.1.248) which will take effect from May 1, 2024.
The fee for first time registrants will be the same for those who just want to update their records with regards to the Ghana Card — at the fee of 310 Ghana Cedis.
Ghanaians with the issue of missing cards will have to get new ones at the cost of 420 Ghana Cedis, while the regular card replacement cost moves up to 125 Ghana Cedis.
Although, it is to noted that first-timers and record updaters will not be charged at both the district and regional offices of the NIA.
The recent changes in payments, according to NIA, is to enhance registration procedures and regulate other activities within the NIA.
