The three other suspects, according to the police, are Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene and Nathaniel Agyekum. Two others are said to be on the run.
A statement from the Police Public Affairs Department said the suspects had created and circulated multiple videos containing threats, the brandishing of a weapon and the assault of some police personnel.
“After critically analyzing the said videos and based on intelligence gathered, the police embarked on an operation today Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the premises of the church to arrest the suspects
“During the operation, some members of the church, believed to have been under the direction of Reverend Bempah assaulted some police officers”, parts of the statement read.
Meanwhile, earlier reports suggested that the arrest of the pastor is partly in connection with the storming of the home of converted fetish priestess Nana Agradaa with armed men.
