Okyeame Kwame, has finally explained why he decided not to reply to Obrafour’s notorious diss track for him, “Kasiebo,” which featured Guru in 2017.
On November 14, 2024, Okyeame Kwame said in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that he was so angry when he first heard the song that he had no choice but to respond to Obrafour with a diss track of his own.
The Rap Doctor, as he is lovingly known, stated that he was guided away from the brawl by the intelligent and thoughtful advice of his wife, Annica, and a few KNUST lecturers, particularly Professor Asante.
They reminded him that there were more important topics to write about in his music, he revealed.
“His wife, Annica, even pointed out that he hadn’t done songs that acknowledged God’s grace or celebrated Ghanaian icons like Nkrumah to think of dissing Obrafour,” Okyeame Kwame continued.
The award-winning rapper thanked them for their advice as he recalled these moments, stating that the choice not only saved his reputation but also maintained a valuable friendship.
Okyeame Kwame acknowledged that a permanent rift between him and Obrafour would have resulted from his decision to retaliate.
