Ghanaian artist Kwame Yogot has claimed that he is owed money by Dr. Bawumia, the vice president and NPP presidential contender.
Speaking with Amansan Krakye on Property FM in Cape Coast, which Ghbase.com listened to, Kwame Yogot claims that the vice president made use of his hit song “Bibi Besi” as a campaign song during the Assin North by-election that was held last year.
The musician claims that the song was used without his permission. He has been waiting for the New Patriotic Party to contact him ever since, but so far, nothing has been done.

“Oh no, Dr. Bawumia hasn’t given me anything since he used my song Biibi Besi for campaigning during the Assin North by-election that was held last year.”
To the best of his knowledge, nothing has been given to him or his current record label. The musician has stated that there are numerous NPP bigwigs in his former record label, so he does not know if anything have happened behind the scenes.
“I don’t know what they are doing if they have gone to take money behind my back. Everyone there from my former record label are big men within the NPP.”
He claims that when the CEO of his previous record company contacted him, the NPP wanted to work with them, but he informed them he had no desire in getting involved in politics.
“As for me, I’m not interested in those things,” he continued, “I didn’t even want them to use my music to campaign in the first place. However, I haven’t received any updates on what’s going on since then.
