A group of Angry Mankessim Youths has demolished the building foundation and fences which is to be used by the Municipal Assembly to construct a new market for the market Women in the Mfantseman Municipality.
According to the information the unidentified angry Youths destroyed the Foundation and the Fence which a contractor is on site constructing the market.
Information gathered indicates that, is as the results of the foundation and the fence that the main reasons why the fire services couldn’t enter the market with their fire tenders to quench the fire which destroyed numerous properties Tuesday evening around 11: 30 PM and as a result several containers and uncountable shops were burnt down.
Touring the construction site after the Regional Minister Hon. Justina Merigold Assan, Mfantseman Member of Parliament Hon. Ophilia Mensah Heyford and the MCE Hon. Kenneth Kelly Essumam hearing that an unidentified angry youth has destroyed the construction centre, the MCE newsmen that, the building of the new market is a benefit they got from the government one million per Constituency Policy and people of Mfantseman get modern market so the site is to be used to build a new market.
According to the MCE, he has prepared a new site for the Drivers in that area to go and work there but they have decided not to go making the place congested.
The MCE is blaming the driver’s who uses that land to be used to construct the new market for loading passengers as an obstacle for vehicles to get assess to the market whiles preparing a new site for them.
The angry MCE said, he will descend on the stubborn Mankessim driver’s who refuses to leave that land for the construction of the market.
In addition, some of the drivers who load passengers on the construction site also said, the MCE saying that he has prepared land for them is untrue and totally false.
According to the angry drivers in an interview with the media said, they won’t go anywhere because no land have been prepared for them to go so what the MCE is saying is totally false.
According to the angry drivers, the MCE should come out and retract that statement saying he has prepared a new land for them immediately else they will do a massive demonstration against him and the entire Mfantseman Municipality Authorities.
