A 56-year-old Nigerian man was detained after reportedly beating his wife to death over her purported plans to file for divorce and wed another guy.
Aminu Abubakar allegedly killed his wife by beating her to death at Yola South LGA’s Shagari Phase 2 Estate.
The guy is accused of attacking his 38-year-old wife Nana Fadimatu on May 5 after learning that she will wed another man the following day.
Suleiman Nguroje, the command’s spokesman, stated the following in a statement on Sunday, May 7:
“The suspect, furiously engaged the deceased and applied force on her by hitting her with a hard object, as a result of which she fell unconscious and was later announced dead.”
Following a tip from Nana Fadimatu’s prospective husband, Mahmud Rufai of Yola South’s neighboring Shagari Annex, the suspect was detained by the police at the Shagari Divisional Headquarters.
The manager of Anasam Table Water at Jambutu 50 Housing Estate, who had one child with the deceased after nine years of marriage, is the suspect, according to the investigations that have been performed so far.
