A Nigerian police inspector has reportedly been apprehended after he chopped off the hand of his pregnant wife for taking his N3,000 from his N20,000 savings.
According to reports, the police inspector had saved N20,000 at home so he got home and started looking for the money as he said he wanted to use the money for something.
He found the money and realized N3,000 had been taken out of it. He questioned his wife and the confrontation turned into a heated argument which ended up with the Inspector, cutting his wife’s hand off.
A spokesman for the State Police Command told news reporters that they, “are aware of the incident, the man is an Inspector. Right now, he is at the State CID and the investigation is ongoing”.
“He has a minor misunderstanding with his wife over some money. They had an argument over some N20,000 he kept in the house and he said he was looking for the money to do something and an argument ensued. The case is under investigation.”
An eye witness who also happens to be a neighbour of the couple also said, “The wife is pregnant, she refused to give the man N3,000 from the N20,000. The argument was heated and before we knew it, the man cut off her hand. No one can say why he did that but we were concerned about her she was rushed to a hospital.”
