Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God spoke to his members about the danger of masturbation and how one can be free from it.
Remember many pastors claimed masturbation is not a sin since it’s done outside the body.
According to pastor Adeboye he heard some pastors preach and say masturbation is not a sin and can not make one not to enter heaven. The preachers statement that masturbation is not a sin is clearly inaccurate. In fact, the Bible does not use the word “masturbation,” but it does label lust as a sin.
God has given us His word to guide us in our daily lives so we can walk in His will. Masturbation is a sin just like any other sin that separates ourselves from God and his will for our lives. Masturbation can lead you into lustful thoughts and actions. He believes that masturbation defies God’s plan for sexuality, and can become addictive. Many people & preachers paint masturbation make it look it’s not a sin.
Mark 4:22 says, “For nothing is hidden which will not be made manifest, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.” Masturbation wears down its victims with guilt and shame, causing them to put distance between themselves and God.
As a final note, he encouraged anyone who masturbates to seek help by opening up to a spiritual leader for counseling. “Regularly renew your mind with Scripture, and you will gradually gain victory over this habit,” he encouraged.
