Following quite a while of misgiving over the destiny of Ghana’s COVID-19 inoculation program, the activity looks set to continue soon.
As per the Ghana Health Service (GHS), 350,000 portions of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines would show up in Ghana Friday, May 7, 2021 on board a Turkish Airline battle to launch the second period of the cross country inoculation.
“We were supposed to receive the AstraZeneca doses on Tuesday, Unfortunately, there was a connection flight cancellation and so we are expecting them on Friday,” the Programme Manager, Expanded Programme on Immunisation of the GHS, Dr Kwame Amponsa-Achiano, told the Daily Graphic Wednesday.
Fears that the program could be kept down uplifted when the second cluster of dosages from the COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access Facility (COVAX) office, anticipated from India, were not impending.
