The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination will now take place in 2023, according to the West African Examination Council (WAEC)
From Monday, July 31 to Friday, September 26, 2023, school candidates will take the WASSCE.
Moreover, the BECE will be given simultaneously for this year’s school and private candidates from Monday, August 7, to Friday, August 11, 2023.
According to a release from WAEC, the accepted registration fee for enrolment into 7 or 8 topics is GH381.24. The prices for the practical or oral tests, which range from GHC 14.50 to GHC 19.50 for each practical test, are not included in this sum.
The head of WAEC’s public affairs, Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, stated that the BECE registration portal will be open for business from March 27 to April 28, 2023, and that the council will have briefing sessions for all parties involved from March 21 to 24, 2023.
The timetable for the WASSCE and BECE was disrupted in 2020 after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic which compelled the government to close down schools.
