Mason Mount has been excluded from international service by Chelsea manager Graham Potter just days after he was called up to the team.
Despite missing Chelsea’s past three games overall due to injury, Mount was nonetheless selected for the most recent England squad by Gareth Southgate, who also announced that Mount’s Blues teammate Raheem Sterling would not be participating owing to his own fitness issues.
The 24-year-elevation old’s to the squad by Southgate implied he had recovered from his pelvic condition, but Potter now asserts otherwise.
“Raheem has a problem with his hamstring. It’s not too serious but he’ll miss the game at the weekend and the international trip,” said Potter ahead of Saturday’s home game against Everton.
“It’s the same with Mason. He’ll miss the England camp as well.”
