Statue In Paris Believed To Have Fertility Power Unveiled

The cemetery of Père La Chaise is the largest of all cemeteries in the whole of Paris, France.

It gaining vast recognition for a weird reason, which led to a widely-believed myth that a sculpted statue of a young man, Victor Noir, could make women fertile and even make them eligible for marriage.

The statue of Victor Noir can be found in the cemetery of Père La Chaise– according to the myths, a woman can kiss Noir’s statue on the lips, rubs the bulge in his trousers and drops a flower in his hat, she will become fertile and have a wonderful sex life.

More emphatically, a French woman who wishes to bear one child can touch Noir’s right foot; if she wants twins, then she has to touch his left foot.

It is, also, believed that the news of pregnancy of these women will be confirmed soon after the encounter and that single ladies will get a husband within that same year.

Over the years, it has become evident that the lips, groin and shoe upper parts of Victor Noir’s statue are different from the general colour of his entire body, due to the fact that those parts have been touched often — reason a fence was placed around the statue of Noir with a warning sign, “Any damage caused by graffiti or indecent rubbing will be prosecuted”.

This single action didn’t stop the women of Paris from getting what they wanted; this led to the destruction of the fence in the shortest possible time’.

Till this day, upholders of this fertility statue myth often return with photos of their children and other objects to place them in Victor Noir’s sculpted hat, as means of gratitude.
