KiDi, the singer of the famous song “Touch It,” has stressed the reason why his father once stripped him naked.
The Ghanaian performer revealed to the general public how his father had stripped him naked for misbehaving at school. In an interview with the host of the Doreen Avio Show on Joy Prime TV, KiDi explained how everything came about.
The highlife artist claims that growing up, he was obstinate and insistent, and as a result, he didn’t really have a good relationship with his father because he often brought problems home.
He went on to claim that despite receiving numerous beatings and other forms of discipline from his father, he had never changed his bad habits until one day when his father decided to strip him naked in order to teach him a valuable lesson.
He claimed that when he was accused of stealing his teacher’s lunch without permission, his father reported him. His father gave the order to punish him since he was so enraged by what he had done.
The musician continued by saying that his father asked his sister to perform the act rather than him.
KiDi explained to Doreen Avio, “My dad called my big sister. He was like strip him naked, everything, no supporter, nothing and then, when you are done, put on his church shoes. So picture this, a young kid, naked, wearing only shoes”.
He later admitted that, this punishment and the threats made up his father to let him out of the house brought a sudden change in his behavior.
“My dad said since you want to act all grown up, leave my house and go and live in your own house. I started crying and walking out, and he called me up and things have never been the same. So I feel like that punishment stuck with me more than any beating I have ever received, the musician shared his pain.
