A young man identified as Kofi Yesu has been sentenced to prison by a Cape Coast Circuit Court for robbery and also inflicting machete wounds on an accountant in May this year.
Kofi Yesu, 20, is said to have met Irene Agyapong, 21, who is an accountant for Love Enterprise at Assin Fosu in Central Region and robbed her after inflicting machete wounds on her. Yesu then went into hiding.
Irene was missing some teeth after she was slashed twice in the face.
According to reports, the Assin Fosu Divisional Police Command successfully apprehended him at his hideout and arraigned him before the court.
UTV News’ Oscar Adawu Dadzie reported that the Cape Coast Circuit Court 2 presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Dorinda Smith Arthur was filled with loud wailing when Kofi Yesu heard his sentence.
