The government of Ghana is being appealed to as a matter of urgency to by way of an emergency, institute practical training centres where Ghanaian medical students can go and have a feel of what is expected of them after their successful completion of courses.
The former vice chancellor of the University of Ghana, Legon, Professor Ivan Addae Mensah, is calling on the Akuffo Addo leadership to take a bold step once and for all, upgrade, establish or convert more hospitals in the country into teaching hospitals.
According to the former vice chancellor, that is the only way possible that Ghanaian doctors in the country, can be up to the task when they are graduated because, the medical practitioners are not being in replete as it should be the case therefore, he is strongly advocating for a more broader view where even the technocrats in the field of Medicine and its related professionals, can come together to cause such a magnificent breakthrough to transpire in Ghana.
He is therefore, pleading with the government of Ghana to wrap up the head around his suggestions and implement the way forward.
