Ashaiman swoop: Don’t fuel the fire; you can’t fight – Samini advises

After a military “swoop” in the region, dancehall star Samini warned residents not to say anything that would worsen the situation in Ashaiman.

The musician said in a tweet sent on March 8, 2023, that since officials may always find ways to justify their acts or inactions, it is safer to avoid saying or doing anything that might have a negative impact on the Ashaiman incident.

“What can a civilian say after this statement? Watch your mouth, my youth, There’s always the right terminology to justify an action or inaction, and that to condemn a reaction or rebellion… Know to which side you belong and act accordingly. Don’t fuel the fire; you can’t fight,” he advised.

In response to a statement made by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on their recent operation in Ashaiman following the murder of a military man, Samini made a statement.

The military high command reaffirmed that the operation was approved to find the assassins of a young soldier and not to brutally assault the township’s population.

The GAF statement made it clear that their goal was not to exact revenge on innocent citizens but rather to bring the criminals responsible for the horrible atrocity to justice.

Also, they pleaded with the general population to support the military’s efforts to reestablish the area’s peace and security.
