Fishermen at Sakumono who went to sea in search of fishes on Saturday April 24, 2021 were saddened when their nets could only catch waste plastics from the ocean.
In a video circulating on social media shows how the fishermen at Sakumono were offloading the waste plastics from their nets.
According to the narrator, they could not even fill one tray with fish. The rest were just lots of plastic bottles.
This is becoming a growing concern as Ghana’s shores, some weeks ago witnessed an unprecedented number of aquatic mortality when different species of fish washed ashore.
