The 67th Independence Day festivities took place at the newly-commissioned 5,000 seater Youth Resource center, at Koforidua, in the Eastern Region on March, 6, 2024.
Some of the big diplomats in attendance were the Ivorian President, Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo, Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia, Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin and various dignitaries and chiefs from the regions of Ghana.
It is believed that this happened to be Koforidua’s first ever hosted National Independence Day Celebration because most of the indigenes were happy being called to task.
Furthermore, the theme for this august event was dubbed ‘Our Pride, Our Democracy‘, which, to the opinions of the event organizers, was the best option, suitable for the celebration.
According to extensive findings by Ghnewsbuzz, specific commemorations were held in selected municipalities, as instructed, including a march in the Korley Klottey Municipality –this was hosted at the prestigious Accra High School.
There were a handful of marches from different schools, after which the parade inspection period began.
A lot of anticipation grew in people’s hearts as they awaited the delivery of the Independence Day Speech by His Excellency, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo.
