“Napo Can’t Be Bawumia’s Running Mate!” — Maurice Ampaw Explains Why

From a critical bird’s eye view, Ghanaian lawyer, Maurice Ampaw, has made a claim that Matthew Opoku Prempeh stands a little to no chance of winning the position as Vice President Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia‘s running mate.

Mr. Ampaw emphasized, further, that Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the current Energy Minister, has become the pivot of controversy and diversity among the Ashantis — and as a result, this has affected his chances of becoming the next running mate.

“He hasn’t, yet, made a statement, but his followers are creating issues for him, because they are too desperate; that has sparked a lot of misunderstandings in the Ashanti Region.” , revealed Lawyer Ampaw, during a Wontumi TV interview.

He went on to add, “Napo is a nice, gentle, young, and intelligent man. He has worked at both the education and energy sectors, and is more than qualified to be elected as Vice President, but his followers have eliminated his opportunity by lobbying.”

Mr. Maurice Ampaw went on to allege that Goodie Tanoh, one of the NDC bigwigs, is behind the lobbying process, issuing threats to Bawumia to choose Mr. Prempeh at all cost.

“You don’t lobby for the vice president position. Since 1992, Goosie Tanoh and others, tried lobbying to be elected as running mates for Rawlings, Mills, and Mahama, yet they didn’t choose him”, Lawyer Ampaw added.

In conclusion, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw stated that even the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, chose Bawumia, the current vice president,  because he wasn’t lobbied for by supporters — he added that Bawumia should follow the same tangent.
