Nine children drown at Weija while returning from school in a boat

On their way home from school, Nine children from the Accra island community of Faanaa drowned.

According to the report we saw on Tru News Report, the students were traveling from Faana to Kelee in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The children’s ages varied from 8 to 15, according to fresh information from 3News correspondent Joseph Armstrong, who first reported the news. Eight of the kids whose bodies had previously been found had been taken to the morgue at Korle Teaching Hospital. The body of the ninth youngster was discovered on Thursday morning following a hasty search by worried youth.

According to Joseph Armstrong and Christian Afiadenyo, the Municipal Director of the National Accident Management Organization (NADMO), three students managed to flee the incident.

He claimed that one of the students was in command of the boat at the time of the incident, although he is not certain of this information.

According to Mr. Afiadenyo, the child might have been one of the three survivors. It is said that the town has been in a state of sorrow ever since the incident.
