Gborbu Deity Bride, Naa Okromo

There have been many controversies as to the main reason behind the union of Naa Okromo, a minor in the environs of Nungua, to a Gborbu Deity.

Whereas some reports point out that Naa Okromo is sixteen years, not twelve years, like other rumors resound, other reports, also, state that she has not been given in marriage to the Gborbu Wulomo, himself, but rather to the god of Gborbu, to perform certain leadership roles in the Nungua community.

According to most solidified news sources in Ghana, of which Ghbuzznews.com is a candid part, the marital rites of Naa Okromo took place on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in Nungua, and has left Ghanaians with mixed feelings.

But here comes the gushing factor– the family of Naa Okromo has revealed that their daughter has been chosen by the Gborbu Deity and that they are not perturbed, in the least.

Naa’s mother carried her in the womb for two years but could do so, after the deity intervened spiritually, hence the mystery behind her ‘alleged’ bethrotal.

It is, also, emphasized that after Naa was successfully given birth to,she couldn’t crawl or walk for another two years, until the Gborbu Deity was consulted again– whereby, it was made known that Naa is a reincarnated old woman-leader from a Jigwe clan in the Nungua traditional clan.

The deity declared Naa Okromo as a special and favored child who possessed the spiritual ability to rule her community; hence the marriage to the Gborbu Deity through the Wulomo.

Another report from the girl’s family explains that each wife of the Gborbu Deity is entitled to sixteen houses and several hand maids, even though she won’t be part of the priest’s wives.

These claims seek to assure the Ghanaian public that Naa Okromo can have the chance of marrying any man of her choice when she grows.
