Government Will Work With Atsu's Family To Provide Appropriate Burial – Bawumia

The Ghanaian government has pledged to work with Christian Atsu’s family to provide him with an appropriate burial.

During a formal transfer of the deceased Black Stars player’s remains, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia disclosed this information.

During a brief ceremony that took place on the tarmac of Terminal 2 of the Kotoka International Airport, Dr. Bawumia stated, “The state will be fully involved with the family in providing Atsu a befitting burial.”

Thirteen days after a devastating earthquake that killed thousands of people, Christian Atsu’s body was discovered in Turkey.

To welcome the footballer’s remains back home, loved ones, political figures, football experts, and family members gathered at the Kotoka International Airport.

Since then, the remains of the deceased have been taken to the 37 Military Hospital.
