A devastating incident shook the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region on Saturday, June 17,
as National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters joined the charismatic party leader and prospective presidential candidate for 2024, John Dramani Mahama, on his campaign trail at Dansame.
The rally came to an abrupt end when tragedy struck on their way back, leaving one supporter dead and many others with varying degrees of injuries.
Despite the setback, the former President suspended his campaign to personally visit the injured supporters. Our hearts go out to those affected by this unfortunate incident.
He wrote on his official Facebook page.
“Unfortunately, we lost one of our comrades who enthusiastically joined others to the programme,”
“Our condolences to her family.
“I will be leading the party to visit the family of the deceased to commiserate with them.”
